At present, Manus is able to provide comprehensive support for custom domain connections if you are a paid user.
We allow paid users to modify the subdomain of their deployed websites.
Subdomain:
If you do not own a domain, you can search and purchase for the best web address for your site.
*Please note that domain name purchases are non-refundable at the moment.
Custom Domain (Buying a new domain):
If you already own a domain on other platforms (like GoDaddy, Namecheap), you can connect it.
*If you are facing ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH errors and the SSL certificate has not been provisioned for the www subdomain, please disconnect it and reconnect it by following the instructions for connecting external domains. Additionally, please make sure that you tick the "Set up both" box.
Custom Domain (Connecting an existing domain) :
Adding specific DNS records to manage your domain
You may follow the steps below if you wish to add specific DNS records to manage your domain (For example: MX Records / CNAME / TXT):
Step 1: Click “Manage” in the “Data controls” tab of your “Settings”.
Step 2: Find the domain you want to configure and click “Manage” to begin adding your custom DNS records.
Step 3: Click “Add record” to begin adding your record.
Step 4: Enter the record type, name, value, and TTL and click “Confirm”.
*Please note that for the subdomain “www”, please add another DNS record manually after being connected to a domain. If there is an existing A record under your newly connected domain name, please remove the existing A record and add a new CNAME or A record from Manus.
How do I transfer a domain purchased through Manus to another provider?
You can obtain your domain’s authorization code directly in Manus and use it to transfer your domain to another provider.
Before you begin: Your domain must be eligible for transfer. If a transfer lock applies, see Why is there a 60-day waiting period to transfer my domain?.
Step 1: Open your domain settings
Go to Settings → Data controls and click Manage. Find the domain you want to transfer and click Manage to open its details.
Step 2: Select Transfer out
Click the three-dot menu (⋯) beside your domain, then select Transfer out.
Step 3: Copy your authorization code
In the Domain transfer out window, click Copy.
Your new provider will ask for this authorization code. It may also be called an EPP code, auth code, or transfer code.
Step 4: Start the transfer with your new provider
Go to your new provider and choose its domain-transfer option. Enter your domain name and paste the authorization code you copied from Manus.
Follow your new provider’s instructions to confirm the transfer. The confirmation email address and completion time depend on the registrar.
To help keep your website online, preserve your current nameservers and DNS records when setting up the domain with your new provider.
