If Build APK displays “Expo build quota exceeded, please upgrade your Expo plan,” your connected personal Expo account has reached its Android build limit. You can upgrade that Expo account’s plan or wait for the Free plan’s monthly quota to reset before building again.
Manus uses your connected Expo token to request Android builds on Expo’s cloud. This limit comes from Expo, not Manus.
What is the Expo Free plan’s build limit?
Expo’s Free plan currently includes 15 Android builds per calendar month. The quota resets on the 1st of the next month. You can check the current allowance on Expo’s pricing page and the reset rules in Expo’s billing FAQ.
App projects using the same Expo account share that account’s build allowance. Builds for one project therefore reduce the allowance available to your other projects on that account.
How can I build my APK again?
Step 1: Check the Expo account and its usage
Sign in at expo.dev and select the personal account whose token you connected to Manus. Open Billing to check the account’s current plan and monthly usage.
Manage your plan on the Expo website, rather than looking for an upgrade option inside the Expo Go app.
Step 2: Upgrade the correct Expo account or wait for the reset
To continue building without waiting, open Expo Billing. For a Free account, select See plans → Select your account, then follow the instructions to choose and purchase a plan. See Expo’s upgrade instructions for details.
Note: For APK builds in Manus, upgrade the personal Expo account whose token you connected, not a separate organization account. Upgrading the organization account will not increase your personal account’s build allowance, so the limit will still apply.
If you do not want to upgrade, wait for the monthly quota reset before requesting another build.
Step 3: Build the APK in Manus
Once the correct Expo account’s upgrade is active, or its quota has reset, return to your app in Manus and select Build APK again.
Can I still preview my app or publish its web version?
Yes. This APK build-quota limit does not prevent you from previewing changes inside Manus or publishing the web version of your app. It affects generating a new Android APK through Expo.
Previewing your changes and generating an updated APK are separate actions, so a working preview does not mean that Android build quota is still available.
What if the error still appears after upgrading?
Check that you upgraded the personal Expo account whose token you connected to Manus and that Billing shows the updated plan. If the account has remaining build quota but Manus still displays the error, contact Manus Support with a screenshot of the error and the affected project details. Do not share your Expo access token.
