What are the rules for credits consumption? And how can I obtain them?

Learn how Manus credits work, consumption rules, and how to obtain more credits.

How do credits work?

Credits are primarily consumed based on:

  • LLM tokens: Used for task planning, decision making, and output generation.

  • Virtual machines: Used for cloud environments that support file operations, browser automation, and code execution.

  • Third-party APIs: Used for accessing integrated external services, such as financial data and professional databases.

The specific credits consumption for a task is determined by its complexity and duration. Credits are only consumed during active task processing. Completed tasks and the storage or deployment of their outputs do not consume any credits, so there's no need to delete completed tasks.

We provide a full refund of consumed credits for tasks that fail due to technical issues on our end. We will continuously optimize system efficiency and reduce the number of credits consumed per task.

How to get more credits?

  • For Free users, you can upgrade to a Pro membership for more credits.

  • Members who need additional credits can switch to a higher plan.

Will credits expire?

  • Credits are consumed in the following order: event credits > daily credits > monthly credits > add-on credits > free credits.

  • The monthly consumption limit for daily refresh credits for free users is set to 1,500 credits; paid users have no limit. Daily credits can only be used for Manus 1.6 lite.

  • Monthly credits are obtained through subscription and automatically refresh on the same date each month based on your subscription date.

  • Add-On credits: These credits can only be used with an active paid subscription, and can be rolled/carried over to your next subscription cycle(s) as long as you have an active paid subscription. If your account switches to a Free membership or the subscription lapses, these credits become inactive.

  • Free credits never expire.

  • Unused credits require an active paid subscription to remain valid. If your subscription is canceled, any remaining purchased credits may no longer be accessible.

  • Event credits can be earned by participating in events and expire when the event ends.

  • Monthly credits need to be used within the subscription period. For example, if you purchase a $20 Pro membership on January 1st, you will receive 4000 monthly credits, and these credits need to be used before February 1st. If not used up, they will reset on February 1st.

Overview of Credit Refresh Cycles

Manus credits refresh on a recurring cycle tied to your subscription. The refresh timing depends on whether you are on a monthly or annual plan. At the start of each new cycle, your credits are replenished, and any unused credits from the previous cycle are cleared.

Monthly Subscriptions

For monthly subscriptions, credits refresh on the same calendar date each month, based on your subscription start date. For example, if your subscription began on the 13th of a month, your credits will refresh on the 13th of each subsequent month. The number of credits allocated per cycle depends on your specific plan. Unused credits from the previous month do not roll over and are cleared at the start of the new cycle. This ensures that your account always starts fresh with the full allocation of credits for the new month.

Annual Subscriptions

If you are on an annual subscription, your credits refresh monthly during the subscription term. Similar to monthly plans, the refresh occurs on the same calendar date each month, based on your subscription start date. Unused credits are cleared at the end of each monthly cycle and do not roll over. At the end of the annual subscription period, all remaining credits are reset. To avoid losing unused credits, ensure they are utilized within the subscription term.

Impact of Plan Upgrades

Upgrading to a higher plan during a billing cycle does not alter the original cycle end date. Your credits will still refresh on the same calendar date as before. When the new cycle begins, you will receive the updated credit allocation associated with your upgraded plan. It is important to note that unused credits from the previous cycle are cleared on the original renewal date, even if you upgrade mid-cycle. When you upgrade mid-cycle, the system will issue the credits for the difference between the two plans based on the remaining time of your current plan after you upgrade and pay.

Policy on Unused Credits and Rollover

Manus does not allow unused credits to roll over to the next cycle. At the start of each new cycle, all unused credits are cleared and replaced with the new allocation for that cycle. This policy applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions. To maximize the value of your subscription, ensure that you use all your credits within the current cycle.

*Please note that both credit purchases and credit refreshes follow the UTC+0 timezone.

Credits Refresh Rule: Google Play Subscribers

Google Play subscriptions will have time accumulation in upgrade scenarios, causing subscription cycles to exceed one month, but credits are still refreshed monthly. Total credits will be calculated based on your remaining duration divided by the month’s total duration, and multiplying that by your total monthly credits (Remaining duration/total duration of the month * total monthly credits).
